661 Flight Boot Price: $300.00 For the price it’s hard to beat these boots.
The Buckles: The buckles on the 661 flight boots are a very simple design that never come unbuckled. I prefer the simple design of these buckles over the buckles on Alpinestars Tech 10′s. They are easier to use and stay hooked better. Buckles don’t need to be fancy.
The Fit: These are my second pair of 661 Flight Boots, my first pair was a bit loose in the toe area. I usually wear size 12 shoes and size 11 boots in Alpinestars or Gaerne. The 661 Flight 11′s feel very tight in the toe area when compared to others, too bad they don’t have an 11.5. It takes some time, but the toe area does loosen up a bit as the boots get broken in.
The Break In: The break in time for these boots is less than average, even before broken in they aren’t as hard to ride in as other boots are before broken in.
The Comfort: These 661 flight boots are very comfortable when you get the sizing right. They are very well padded throughout especially in the ankle area. I do however recommend switching out the super thin insoles for some Dr. Scholls. Everything other than the insole is very cushy. They are also lightweight when compared to higher end boots.
The Durability: The durability of these boots is very good, I got two years out of my first pair, the average rider will get at least this much time out of them. I ride quite a bit, the durability is above average.
The Support:For this price range the support and protection are very good. There is a lot of raised protection, support and padding that you can see when looking over the boot and feel when wearing the boot.
The Conclusion: If you don’t want to drop the big bucks on a high end set of Gaerne or Alpinestars boots, take a look at the 661 flight boots, everything about them is very impressive. They are a above average boot at a mid-range price.
