In my quest to get more power out of my YZ 250 last year I tried a set of Moto Tassinari V-Force 3 Reeds. The install was super easy and I decided during the install not to use the stock aluminum spacer due to recommendations by former factory Yamaha mechanic Steve Matthes on the Pulp Mx Show.
On the track the power difference isn’t huge and is mainly in the mid range. Obviously I didn’t have dyno access, this is what the seat of the pants dyno felt. These did help the power, but they wouldn’t be the first mod I would choose when trying to get a little extra power out of my bike. It is, however, something that you should consider including as part of your bikes complete modification package (Exhaust, V-Force, head mods to help with pre-detonation, and some cylinder work). You’ll need all of these things to make your YZ’s engine competitive with that of the 250sx (you’ll need to do a lot of work to get there).
